All client sessions are done via FaceTime, Skype, or by phone. For many clients, working virtually can accelerate the treatment success as it eliminates the distractions and complications of being in an office space, travel time, and lateness. My current clients love the convenience of being able to talk wherever is most comfortable to them and can fit in time during a lunch break at work if necessary. Virtual therapy is a great option for disabled clients and new mothers who are unable to leave their homes for treatment. Clients have commented about the ease of being vulnerable and having less shame acknowledging their problems virtually, which can help foster the client-therapist relationship and develop trust more quickly.
With changes in health care, insurance carriers with a PPO will provide the same coverage for virtual sessions that you would receive for working face to face in an office with a therapist. I am licensed in the state of California, so I can only see clients residing in CA. My fees are $150 for a 45-minute session. Contact your insurance provider to find out their reimbursement policy. I will provide you with a receipt for our sessions that you can submit to your insurance.
